Ratpadz

I first saw a Ratpad at HardOCP a while back. I was very curious as to why this pad was any different (other than the shape). The texture looked the same as my EverGlide, so why did Kyle Bennett go ahead and make this creation?

The very first thing I noticed while pulling this monster out of the shipping package was that this pad was fairly larger than the EverGlide LAP (Large Attack Pad). The texture was also the exact same. Before I could set it on my desktop, I had to push things further away to make room (I have a small desk). Upon setting it down I noticed it held very firmly for it's size. I promptly looked at the bottom and noticed it had 8 holding pads as opposed to EverGlide's LAP which has 5. That's three more, but both hold the same (which is very well).

Aside from the obvious differences, the one I found most intriguing was that the Ratpad didn't chafe my wrist, as the EverGlide LAP did. The reason for this is that Ratpadz have a longer, smoother bevel. This allows for easy sliding of the wrist and good rapid movement.

Now the real question, which pad is better, the Everglide Large Attack Pads or the HardOCP Ratpadz? Although I would love to give a definite answer, I can't. The Everglide fit better on my desk and is better in compact areas. However, I will continue to use the Ratpad because I like the smooth beveling.

Costs?
EverGlide
     $18.95 (For The Pad)
     $  3.50 (Handling)
+   $  3.20 (Shipping)
     $25.65

Ratpadz
     $18.95 (For The Pad)
     $  2.00 (Handling)
+   $  3.60 (Shipping)
     $24.55

Price difference, $1.10. What does this mean? Well for a bigger pad, you'll have to pay less (I know, I know, you like to waste your money and this is a bad thing =). But, if you need a smaller pad to fit on your compact desk, then you'll have to pay that extra dollar and dime.
