Nexus NX-4000 400 Watt Power Supply
Page 2 - Testing Results
Tests were conducted by placing various loads upon the power supply and then measuring the various voltages from the power supply. The low load test was conducted with the unit hooked up to a Powmax PSU tester, which provides a load of 25W. The heavy load test was conducted with the power supply fully hooked up to my aging Linux file/general-purpose server. The specs for the server are as follows: (2) Intel Celeron 366@533 MHz (default voltage), (2) Hard disk drive, (1) CD-ROM, (1) Floppy disk drive, (2) 92mm Sunon case fan, as well as a SoundBlaster Live!, D-Link NIC, and a Voodoo3 3000 AGP plugged into their respective slots.
The reference measurements are just 12, 5, 3.3 values provided to give reference to what a perfect measurement would be. Hopefully, this visualization will provide some of you with a good understanding of how the measured voltages compare.

As you can see, the small load did not seem to have much of an affect on the performance. The low variance from the reference means the PSU performed admirably.

These results are excellent. The PSU not only handled the load well, but it did it without an drastic changes. In fact, the sharpest decrease was on the +12V line, which was a 0.07V decrease. Overall, the NX-4000's performance was great in both tests.
